Moving Along

The process is moving along.  We have been assigned Court #20.  What does that mean?  Well, we have heard that it is not a good court nor a bad court.  It is actually an ok court.  The process from this point looks like this:

1.  The judge of Court #20 has 10 business days to process the paperwork and deliver it to the Defender of Minors.

2.  The Defender of Minors then has 5 business days to process the paperwork and deliver it back to the judge.

3.  The judge then has 10 business days to process the paperwork and issue a Decree for Sentenicia.

Supposedly the bad courts take the full allowance of days and the good courts process the paperwork more quickly.  The ok courts fall somewhere in between.  Whatever that means.  So at the most we should have 25 business days to wait.  After the Decree for Sentenicia is issued then we work with the US Embassy to get Benjamin's passport.  After that, we return home!

We have also learned today that we will have our tour of FANA on this Friday, January 21st.  We are very excited to see the facility, the people that cared for Benjamin for 7 months, and especially all the children.  I know this will be a very special experience for Alissa.
